Lonnie D. Canfield was born in Provo, Utah on August 6, 1951 to Lloyd and Betty Canfield. Lonnie lived in a few locations growing up, however some of his best stories were from his time in Saint Paul, MN where he drag raced and hung out with his friends. Lonnie moved with his family to Colorado when he was in his late teens and he and his father Lloyd started Pralon Welding and Machine. Lonnie worked in this business his entire life. Lonnie met and married Carol in 1972 and they welcomed their son Chad in 1978. If he wasn't at the shop, you could find him at the track drag racing with his son and daughter-in-law and later his granddaughter. Lonnie was a truly genuine and kind person to all he met. He would do anything for anyone; they only needed to ask. Lonnie flew with the angels on January 20, 2025. He is survived by his son Chad, daughter-in-law Shannon, grandchildren Makalya and Blaine.
A celebration of life will be held at the Embassy Suites on Clydesdale Parkway in Loveland, Colorado on Saturday, February 8 between 6 and 9 PM. This is an open house for anyone to stop by and share your stories about a truly wonderful man who will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that you please consider donating in Lonnie's name to either the Fort Collins Cat Rescue or Big Bones Canine Rescue in Windsor, CO.
