Lois Esther Thayer of Fort Collins went to be with her Lord and Savior from Centre Avenue Health and Rehab on December 18, 2011. Lois was born July 18, 1912 at home in Timnath, Colorado to Louis H. and Susan Emma Thayer.
Lois was a 2nd grade school teacher for 41 years, after attending Timnath Schools 1-12, and graduating from Colorado State College of Education UNC. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority Zeta Chapter and retired teachers. Survivors include her niece, Merilyn Davies, two great nephews, two great nieces, two great-great nephews, one great-great niece, and one great great-great nephew. Preceding Lois in death are her parents, one brother, Hillman Thayer and one nephew, Dick Thayer. A Funeral Service will be held at LifePointe Church First Baptist Church, 900 E Prospect Street at 11:00 am on Thursday. Graveside service will be held at Grandview Cemetery at 1:30 pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the Larimer County Food Bank or the charity of your choice in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
