Lois Roesch passed into the arms of our Lord on January 16, 2010 in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born on May 15, 1929 to Carl and Alma Lindgren in Watertown, South Dakota where she grew up with eight siblings. Lois graduated from Watertown High School in 1947 where she showed her talents as a drum majorette, member of the baton twirling club and the choir. On February 12, 1948, Lois married Jerauld Roesch in South Dakota. She and Jerry moved to Superior, Wisconsin where they raised their six children for 19 years followed by moves to Eau Claire and Hudson, Wisconsin. Lois and Jerry retired and moved to Mesa, Arizona and finally settled in Fort Collins, Colorado. Her passion for tennis was renewed during those years in retirement. Lois was a homemaker for many years but also worked as a school secretary, educational aide, and bookkeeper for Jerry. She had a lifelong love of books, babies, birds, plants, knitting, and trying new recipes. Her special love for babies stayed with her even as she went on Alzheimer's long journey. Lois was also involved in directing and singing in the church choir and piano playing. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry; and six children, Judy Robert, Susan Hans, Joel Mary, Ricky Rhonda, Pam Ralph, and Sally Sean. She is further survived by fifteen grandchildren, Heather Paul, Ben, Michael Lisa, Kristin, Kayla Peter, Samantha, Daniel, Johanna, Hans, Rachel, Christopher, Alex, Jodi, Jami Tonn, Darin Brooke and seven great-grandchildren. Lois's surviving siblings include Viola, Shirley Gene, Phyllis, and JoanneBob. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, which include Virginia, Gladys, Doris, and Lester. A celebration of Lois's life will be held at Faith Evangelical Free Church on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Fort Collins, Colorado. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Golden Peaks Nursing Home or Alzheimer's Association in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524. The family especially wants to thank the compassionate staff at Golden Peaks and Mountain Valley Hospice who provided loving care during the 4 years Lois resided there.
