Lloyd Mcnally

Lloyd W. McNally passed away at McKee Hospice Center in Loveland on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008. Lloyd was born Dec. 9, 1909 in Greeley to Luther F. McNally and Maude Maxwell McNally. He was the middle child in a family of eleven children. He married Mary Landes on June 28, 1933 in Fort Collins. They were married 70 years. Mary preceded Lloyd in death on Jan. 20, 2004. As a young man he traveled to Alaska, where he worked in the mill at the Fern Gold mine near Palmer. He also worked as a heavy duty mechanic working on the Alcan highway as well as other roads in Alaska. He also worked in the construction of airports in Alaska and construction of the Horsetooth dams west of Fort Collins. The McNally's operated their own dairy farm for many years in LaPorte and Buckeye areas. He also created two subdivisions; McNally's Hilltop Subdivision and McNally's Farview Subdivision. He retired in LaPorte. Lloyd was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Anchorage, Alaska, and the First United Presbyterian Church in Fort Collins. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Mary. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Guin McNally of Cheyenne, Wyo.; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Bob Stark of Lafayette; son, Lloyd Bob McNally of Laporte; sister, Geraldine Kallas of Rock Springs, Wyo.; and sister-in-law, Jackie Nelson of Laporte; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 3three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild; and two great- grandchildren. A funeral to celebrate Lloyd's life will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 13 at First Presbyterian Church, 531 S. College Ave. The Rev. Richard McDermott will officiate. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Larimer County, in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
