Lloyd Anderton Boggs

Lloyd Anderton Boggs, born to William Bill and Mabel Boggs on March 10, 1938, in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, died of natural causes in Fort Collins, Colorado on October 4, 2010. Lloyd spent his early childhood in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, until the family, his parents, three brothers, and one sister moved to Fort Collins in 1947. Lloyd enjoyed playing sports, participating in band, choir, and drama, hunting, and fishing. After graduating from Fort Collins High School, Lloyd joined the Marine Corps. He married Mary Liz Rich in 1957 and welcomed his first son, Lloyd Anderton Jr. Ande in 1959. In 1967 Lloyd married Marcia McClure. In 1976 he welcomed his second son, Ryan McClure Boggs and in 1979 he welcomed his daughter, Lara. He loved being a father and enjoyed camping, sailing, and cross country skiing with his family. Lloyd earned his Master's Degree in Social Work and began working as a marriage and family Clinical Social Worker through his practice. In 1998 Lloyd married Nikkie Carson. Lloyd welcomed his third son adopted, Donovan Boggs in 2000. The last year of his life brought wonderful times with his family; biking, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors in Colorado, and traveling. He is survived by his sons, Lloyd Anderton Boggs II, Ryan McClure Boggs, Donovan Boggs; his daughter, Lara Ann Boggs Arledge; his brothers, William James Boggs, Ernest Richard Boggs, and Gale Forrest Boggs; five grandchildren, Alexander 10, Zachary 7, Sullivan4, Cooper 2 1/2, and Atticus 9 months; nieces and nephews; sisters-in-laws, cousins, former wife, step-son, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father 1988 and his mother 2001, and sister, Gwen 1995.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at 1:00pm at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive Street, Fort Collins, CO. The Reverend Paul Holdeman will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lloyd's name to Legacy Land Trust in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive Street, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
