Listen to Obituary
On March 13, 2010 Linda Lee Stalnaker lost her courageous battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord. Linda was born on September 1, 1940 in Hookerton, N.C., to Charles and Bessie Creech. She grew up in Wilmington, N.C. and graduated from East Carolina College with a degree in education. Linda married Clair Stalnaker on February 23, 1963. She taught third grade in Wilmington, N.C. before moving to Utah in 1966 where she taught at the Intermountain Indian School. In 1976, she moved with her family to Fort Collins where she was an office manager for the Fort Collins Board of Realtors until 1994. Linda was the beloved wife of Clair whom she just celebrated 47 years of marriage with, and loving mother to sons, Greg Sheri and Grant Mary. She was Grandmama to Chase, Braden, Allison, Madelyn, and Matthew. She also adored her only sister, Charlotte and her family from Georgetown, South Carolina. Linda was preceded in death by one grandson, Jonathan and the reunion with him must be glorious. Linda's laughter, love, delight in beautiful things, and sense of humor will be with her family always. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 900 E. Prospect. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Linda's name to: The Poudre Valley Hospital Foundation Cancer Center in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
