Leslie James Thompson was born May 21, 1939 to Ole and Sophia Thompson. He was the youngest of 6 siblings. Thorvald, Veloris, Nora, Ole, and Nancy. After graduating from Hurdsfield High School in 1957 he eventually settled in Fort Collins to attend CSU. At the time he was managing Woolworths. He met and married Iris Elliott, of Timnath. He was employed at Mountain Bell Telephone Company as an Engineer for over 30 yrs. Upon retiring from the phone company, he became the Box Elder Ditch Superintendent for 21 yrs. A job he took great pride in doing. He and Iris would travel to Cowboy Gatherings throughout the western states attending Cowboy music and Poetry shows. On occasion he would even perform some of his own poetry.
Les loved his wife, his children, grandchildren and his life in Christ!
Leslie is survived by his wife of 61 yrs, Iris Elliott Thompson of Timnath, CO Son Kenton Thompson of Broomfield, CO daughter Tracy Thompson Kellums and son in law Kent Kellums daughter Christine Thompson Fox Morgan Granddaughter Amber Fox Kaseman and husband Kris Kaseman Granddaughter Kelli Fox Grandson James Morgan Granddaughter Tamara Thompson Grosso and husband Joey Grosso great grandson Elliott Grosso great granddaughter Sonia Grosso
