Leslie Clair Charvat Jr was born December 30, 1950 to Shirley Jean Fidino Charvat and Leslie Clair Charvat Sr in Fort Collins CO. He went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 10, 2026. Les was the first of 5 children. Siblings were Debbie, Patti, Sue and finally a brother Andy (Socko). He lived in Fort Collins his entire life. Leslie's first job was mowing lawns and helping at the family grocery store, sorting pop bottles. He liked working in the school cafeteria for a free lunch, he said it wasn't because his folks couldn't afford to buy his lunch, but the cooks all liked him and would give him extra food! His personality was special even as a young child! Les graduated from Poudre High School in 1970. He made friends wherever he was. He enjoyed getting to know people and he always made them feel like they were important to him and they were. There was nothing phony about the man. He was sincere and always there to help if you needed anything! He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father and grandfather.
His working career was in the grocery business at Charvat Grocery until the late 70's, then some construction work. From there he worked at Steele's for about 20 years. Then he tried trucking and various jobs until he was hired at Veeco for 9 years. Retirement didn't last long and he went back to work in construction for a few years until his health declined and he was forced to retire completely. He enjoyed spending time helping his Mom and being home with his wife, Ginger. They enjoyed alot of things together for almost 22 years. He loved helping out at his church with yard work and helping with whatever he could. Les was the kind of guy that if you mentioned something needed done, he was on it and there was no taking it back! He was very loved and will be greatly missed by everyone that was privileged to know him. He was one in a million! He loved his children with all his heart and enjoyed spending time with them when they were growing up and as adults he was there to help them whenever they needed him. He would drop everything to help his children and all family at the drop of a hat. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Les, his grandparents Goldie and Frank Fidino, Andy and Lucille Charvat and Step grandmother Martina Charvat.
