Leroy Dietz

LeRoy Walter Dietz, 78, of Florence, Ariz., Native of Fort Collins and recent Snowbird passed away Sept. 29, 2008, at home from Leukemia, following a 10 year battle with a Blood Disorder. He was born May 26, 1930, in Fort Collins, the ninth child of Fredrick Jacob Dietz and Anna Boxberger Dietz. Lee married the late Lillie Mae Ollis in 1953. Lee is survived by his sons, Gary and wife, Peg, of Bellingham, Wash., Fred and wife, Cathy, of Fort Collins, Jeff and wife, Debbie, of Fort Collins. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Richard "Aaron" Dietz and wife Cindy of Tracy, Calif., Heather Ann Dietz and husband, Josh Mead, of Huntington Beach, Calif., Lily Marie Dietz Williams and husband, Jeff, of Fairview, Ore., Rachael Lynn Dietz of Colorado Springs, and Jacob LeRoy Dietz of Fort Collins. Lee is also survived by his neighbor and companion, Laura Hofmann of Florence, Ariz., and brothers Albert, Arthur and Vernon along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae; children, Debra Lynn and David Duane; siblings, Paul, Hermann, Clara, Olinda, Leo and Leona. Lee was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and retired from Public Service Company of Fort Collins. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, golfing and playing pool with friends and family. During the last years of his life, Lee received much love, strength and support from his early morning coffee "family". Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W Olive, Fort Collins, CO 80524. Interment to follow at Grandview Cemetery.
