Lenard George Meyer

Lenard Meyer, 93, of Chico, California passed away on October 28, 2013. He was born on August 27, 1920 to George and Eva Meyer. He graduated from Waverly High School, north of Fort Collins, in May 1939. Lenard was inducted into the army on July 22, 1942 in Fort Logan, Colorado. He was in Army Ordinance, 42nd Rainbow Division, and in the 96th Infantry Division overseas. He served in the Fiji Islands, Okinawa and the Philippines. In 1949 Lenard married his mate of 64 years Marian Mill. On their honeymoon they came to California and stayed. They had one daughter, Linda Meyer of Danville, California. Lenard loved working with tools. He worked for Pacific Gas and Electric Company of northern California installing hydroelectric and steam power generating plants. Lenard retired after 27 years as a Senior Field Inspector. Lenard is survived by his wife and daughter; his brother, Art Meyer Marilyn of Wellington, Colorado and his sister, Rufina Kaltenberger of Windsor, Colorado; and his sister, Shirley Holtcamp Charles of Clovis, New Mexico; and many nieces and nephews.
Lenard loved his family above all else. He will truly be missed. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 East Stuart. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Grandview Cemetery.
