Lawrence Lucero died peacefully at age 59 and went to heaven on January 18th, 2026. After a long-term illness, Lawrence passed away at the Pathways Hospice Center in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Lawrence was born on January 25th, 1966 in Pueblo, Colorado. Surrounded by a large and loving family, Lawrence spent much of his childhood in Fort Collins. He loved playing basketball and would spend countless hours playing PIG and Around the World. He enjoyed and looked forward to summer camping trips with his family and friends, staying up late around the campfire and reminiscing about the "good ol' days" and looking forward to the future.
Despite experiencing health setbacks as a child, he went on to work in and explore Phoenix, Arizona and Gillette, Wyoming before returning back to Fort Collins. Lawrence spent much of his career as a restaurant manager, for places such as Village Inn, Hewlett Packard and UCHealth, and he also worked for the Water and Power Department with the City of Fort Collins.
He valued his family connections, celebrating the accomplishments of his nieces and nephews, and spending time with cousins and relatives. He had a kind heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. He valued relationships, and even during his own tribulations, he always thought of others and expressed concern for their wellbeing and offered words of encouragement and faith. He was a man of faith, belonging to Holy Family Church, and later an active member of both Crossroads and Foundations Church. He was also a lifelong Bronco football fan, attending live NFL games and the 1999 Superbowl.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Stone Lucero, sister Aloyse Lucero, and parents, Bernie and Gloria Lucero. He is survived by his brother, Bernard Lucero (Erin), niece Amber Oliver (Scott) and grandnieces Kynsley and Sadie, niece Meghan Lucero, nephew David Baca (Christine) and grandnephews Donovan and Armani, nephew Spencer Lucero, and a large extended family of cousins, aunties and uncles.
He will be greatly missed by all but never forgotten.
The family wish to give a special thanks to the friends and staff at the Residence at Oakridge, Fresenius Dialysis Clinic, and to Pathways Hospice for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pathways Hospice Center via their website at

At Lawrence's request, there will not be a formal service; a private event will be held at the Residence at Oakridge. Lawrence asked everyone to celebrate his favorite team, the Denver Broncos, in his memory.
