Laurie McIntosh of Ft. Collins, Colorado was born June 11, 1952 and passed away May 17, 2017, at the age of 64, after a six-week serious illness. Laurie was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Esther McIntosh. She is survived by her four sisters, Dana Souser of Richmond, Virginia, Jeanne Kelley of Joplin, Missouri, Andrea McIntosh of Irvington, Virginia, and Karen McIntosh of Ft. Collins.

Laurie was born in Tokyo, Japan, while her parents were serving in the U.S. Army. In 1953, the family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where her four younger sisters were born. Later she lived in West Germany, Baltimore, Maryland, and Vienna, Virginia. Laurie graduated from Woodlawn Senior High School in Baltimore.

She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Vienna for 40 years. Laurie worked as an accounting clerk for the Department of Interior for 31 years. She retired and moved to Ft. Collins to live near her sister, Karen, and she resided at The Winslow.

Laurie was a much beloved extraordinary person. Her sunny nature brought cheer to all around her. She enjoyed life fully despite life-long physical challenges. She rode her bike, swam and walked her dog. Laurie travelled often with her sisters to places including Canada, Hawaii, Arizona, California, New York City and Las Vegas.

Laurie was devoted to family and friends, enjoyed calling and emailing and never missed anyone's birthday. Laurie loved to shop and spoil her nieces and nephews. She was known for her tasteful holiday decorating and annual holiday recipes. Laurie loved teasing her brothers-in-law, cousins, aunts and uncles, co-workers and friends.

Laurie lived with her mother most of her life. They were inseparable and Laurie took care of her mother in her final years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Ft. Collins at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, May 26, at 2:00 pm. Following the service, burial in Grandview Cemetery in the McIntosh family plot. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to The March of Dimes.
