Laura Adelle Sullivan was our mom, grandma, great- grandma, sister, and friend to so many. After completing everything she set out to do in this world, she went home on May 14th, 2021 at the age of 92.
She began her life at the start of the depression era, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the older of two girls. In school she excelled at art, using her favorite mediums of pastel and watercolor to create beautiful paintings, some of which still hang on our walls.
She also enjoyed fashion and jewelry and wouldn't leave the house unless she felt she was positively sparkling with rings, necklaces and bracelets. She was an avid book reader, studying anything from astronomy to religion, science and technology and fluff mystery novels.
She married Ralph Sullivan and together they had 8 children.
While raising her kids, she began a career at the Bell Telephone Company in Indianapolis, IN as a telephone operator. She rose into management as a Business Information Consultant before retiring from Mountain Bell in Colorado with over 21 years of service.
She devoted much of her retirement to tending to her rose garden, various flowers and bushes and even planted a maple tree in her front yard. She loved polka dancing and would attend local dances as often as she could. She also loved scouring antique shops and yard sales and would often bring home items that she would repair and polish and love back to life.
She had a wide circle of friends who would often confide and seek advice from her as she was rock solid and wise, wrapped in kindness and empathy.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph and son Christopher.
She is survived by her children, Shaun, Marc, Lisa, Matt, Joel, Kathleen, Kelly and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorial Service to be held in her home on Saturday, June 5th 2021 from 10:00a.m. to 12:00 noon.
