Konnie had her first child in January 1982, Ramon Renz and returned to high school to graduate the same year. Konnie traveled for a couple years and had her second child, Felica Loera (Valdez) in Hobbs, New Mexico. Weeks after Felica was born, Konnie returned to Fort Collins to raise her children.

In June of 1993, Konnie and Alfonso had Benito Loera in Fort Collins and in 1995 Nathin Loera was born. Konnie and Alfonso raised their children together but moved to Greeley in 1995.

Through the years, Konnie continued to be an incredible woman, working for First Interstate Bank, State Farm Insurance, Weld County Human Services, Nobel Energy, and Chevron. During this time, in 2002, Konnie was blessed with a granddaughter, Jazzmin Valdez (Loera), who she later adopted, forever changing her life. Konnie gained another grandchild, Nicolas Valdez, that was later adopted and became Elijah. The adoption, being open left it open for the families to keep in contact. In 2011, Konnie reconciled with Felica and Felica blessed Konnie with another granddaughter, Jerissa Valdez in 2018. In 2020, Konnie was present for the adoption of Felica to her husband Alfonso which made her proud.

In May of 2023, Konnie went into remission, but she continued to fight through so much difficulty, she lived for her children and grandbabies. Konnie was an inspiration, strong, honest, loyal, she laughed a lot, and she was loved by so many people.
