Kit Dee Knuppel, 66, passed away at his home in Laporte, Colorado on Friday, September 5, 2025.
Kit was born on September 28, 1958 to Dale O. and Eva Knuppel (McKean) in Kimball, Nebraska. He grew up on a farm near Grover, Colorado. The farm was always his "happy" place. The family later moved to Greeley, Colorado in 1966.
He graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1977. After graduation he worked as a bartender at various restaurants and bars in the Greeley and Fort Collins areas. Later he changed occupations and became a house painter. In 2013 he became a self-employed house painter. He retired in 2023.
Kit loved to fish and play softball and darts. He enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams: The Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Boston Celtics and St. Louis Cardinals.
Kit is survived by his brothers Dale R. Knuppel (Denise) and Lee Knuppel (Donna) of Fort Collins, Colorado; and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
As per Kit's wishes, no public service will be held.
