Kim Ortega

Kim Renee Ortega, 52, of Fort Collins, passed away at home surrounded by her family Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007. Funeral arrangements are planned for 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1400 Lynnwood Drive, Fort Collins. Interment following the service will be at Grandview Cemetery. Kim Renee Ortega was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Feb. 24, 1955, to Wylma and Wendell Lythgoe. Kim lived in Salt Lake for a short period of time, then the family moved to Broomfield, Loveland, and since 1968 she lived in Fort Collins. Kim married Harry Otis Ortega on June 30, 1985, in Reno, Nev. Kim was preceded in death by her father, Wendell Lythgoe, and nephew, Andrew Asa. She is survived by her beloved husband, Harry, and their six children, Sheena and Matt McDonald of Greeley, Robert Ortega of Fort Collins, James and Teresa Forsythe of Brighton, Kayla, Laci and Harry Jr. of Fort Collins. She is also survived by her mother, Wylma; her brother, Scott and Kristi Lythgoe of Parker; and sister, Wendy and Charlie Standring of Fort Collins. Kim's nieces and nephews are Kaydi Homme, Patti Slade, Trina Visocky, John and Daniel Lythgoe. She loved her four grandchildren with a passion, and her little dogs Amber and Selma were her closest little friends. Kim loved to cook and garden. She prepared many meals for family and friends where there was lots of laughter and great food. She took great pride in her gardening abilities and for many years she cared for others by mowing yards. She shared her talents with those in need and was a special friend to many. Her greatest love was her family and she devoted her time to their care and needs. She will be greatly missed.
