Kevin Barry Lovett transitioned peacefully at home in Fort Collins on December 20, 2015. Born December 3, 1948 in New Haven, CT to Patrick and Margaret Lovett, the youngest of four siblings, he is survived by his brother, John, Sr. (Barbara) Lovett, sisters, Joan E. Lovett and Patricia (John) Bissell, all of which reside on the East Coast. Kevin married Mary Lu O'Connell on June 10, 1972. Their children, Jessica (Jeff, Lucita Jane) Galbraith and Sarah (Doug) Saenz each reside on the West Coast.
Kevin graduated from Canisus College in Buffalo, NY with a degree in history before moving to Fort Collins and serving a full career with the USPS. After retirement, he was privileged to work for almost a decade as a volunteer coordinator for the Larimer County Foodbank– his true passion. He also served as a member of the Breakfast Rotary Club and a board member of 3 Hopeful Hearts. Kevin enjoyed music, running marathons, CSU Rams, travel and spending time with his family. He was proud of his Irish heritage and recently attained Irish citizenship.
Kevin was loved by many and a friend to all. Contributions can be made in his name to Pathways Hospice and the Foodbank for Larimer County in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at the Drake Center, 802 W. Drake Rd. in Fort Collins, CO.
