Kenneth Root, 82, former longtime resident of Englewood, Colorado, passed away in Fort Collins on October 27, 2009. Ken was born on July 14, 1927 to William and Gladys Root in Denver, Colorado. After graduating from Englewood High School, Ken entered the Army and served his country. Upon returning from the service, Ken married the love of his life Vonda Roth on June 24, 1950. A devoted husband and father of three children, was preceded in death by his son, Daniel; brothers, Robert and Richard; and sister, Jane. He is survived by his loving wife, Vonda; his daughter, Donna Chuck; his son, Terry Margaret; his brother, William Sherry; his sister, Rosemary; twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ken was well known in Englewood as the Manager of Bear Frame and Axle, a member of the Englewood Jay Cee's, and Littleton Elks Club. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and enjoyed all aspects of the sports world. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the South Gate Church, 6541 S. College Ave in Fort Collins, Colorado. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
