Kenneth L. Robbins, beloved husband, father and grandfather, age 67, passed away peacefully May 11, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of 48 years; sons, Douglas, Michael and Gregory; and daughter, Susanne; their wives, Kelley, Allyson and Teri; and grandchildren, Tyler, Shaun, Trace, Alexis and Kyle. Ken was born in Denver. He was a graduate of Lakewood High School class of '57 and a graduate of the University of Denver School of Business in 1962. He was a member of the Masonic order, 32nd degree Mason, El Kalah Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. Ken, or Kenny, as his high school friends called him, will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, friend, coach and mentor. His passion for life and genuine concern for people will always be remembered. Ken began his extensive and diverse life insurance career in 1965. A dedicated professional, he began his career with Aetna Life Insurance company and later managed several insurance agencies in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ken founded Scepter Group Ltd., an independent insurance agency specializing in employee benefits. Ken was a founding partner of Pro Group Associates, an organization comprised of independent insurance agencies. Ken later became a partner of Western Benefit Planners Insurance Services LLC. During Ken's distinguished career, he received numerous honors for outstanding sales achievement and dedication to his profession. These awards include: past member of Million Dollar Round Table MDRT and President's Club for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Utah. Ken's passion was spending time developing young people through athletics. Ken devoted 37 years to the Ute Conference Youth Football organization, where he served as a coach, league commissioner and member of the executive board. Ken strongly believed in the importance of providing an opportunity for all young athletes to participate and compete through the game of football. He will be remembered for influencing and touching the lives of thousands of young athletes. A memorial service honoring Ken will be held at 11 a.m. May 18, 2007 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 7755 Greenstone Trail, Fort Collins, CO 80525. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted on behalf of Ken to the Redeemer Lutheran Church Ken Robbins Memorial. Funds will be used to support the church's Youth Ministry.
