Ken Kerchenfaut, aka Red Mountain Squeaks.
He was a man of many interests and talents. Teacher, artist, athlete, conservationist, essayist, husband, and friend. He lived his philosophy - all things are connected. He was not at ease with the tech world. Ken preferred book learning to YouTube!
He built eco-friendly homes. An adobe casita in California, a strawbale house near Fort Collins and a log trapper shack on his mountain meadow, all by reading how in books.
Ken loved handball and played a good game for 50 years. He had a great serve!
He was a talented artist who loved painting in the drip abstract style of Jackson Pollock.
Above all, he was happiest in nature. Backpacking, hiking, Nordic skiing, or just sitting by the campfire, Ken was most at home outdoors.
His wife Sue (Jesse) of 55 years was there by his side, and he kept her laughing through good times and bad.
Ken had many friends. He will be deeply missed and there will be a party to celebrate his life later in the summer.
