Kenneth Thomas Colasuonno of Fort Collins, Colorado, was finally healed of his brain tumor by being taken to Heaven on March 18, 2010. Ken was born on June 24, 1959, in Orlando, Florida, to Air Force Major Vincent and Marie Logiurato Colasuonno. As a child, he lived in lots of places as his dad was a pilot in the Air Force. Following his father's death in Vietnam, the family lived in Wichita and Topeka, Kansas. He graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 1977. Ken went to University of Missouri at Rolla, graduating with a Chemical Engineering Degree in 1981. Upon graduation, he moved to Houston where he worked with Exxon from 1981 until 1987. Ken married Sharon Taylor on March 15, 1986. In December 1988, Ken received his Masters in Computer Science from Rice University. In January 1989, Ken and Sharon moved to Fort Collins where he worked for Hewlett Packard then Agilent Technologies until April 2009, at which time God decided he had different plans for Ken's life. Ken has three children, Jill Katherine University of Wyoming, Paul Stephen Fossil Ridge High School, and Leah Taylor Emmaus Bible College. Ken touched many lives through his short 50 years. He spent several years on the Parent Advisory Board of Washington/Traut Core Knowledge School in its beginning years. He also spent many years working with Boy Scout Troop 188. Ken earned his Black Belt in Kenpo Karate in 2006. He went to Juarez, Mexico, on a youth mission trip in 2007, and worked for several years as an usher at Faith Evangelical Free Church. He helped build a house with Habitat for Humanity and loved woodworking. In June 2009, Ken tested and received his Project Manager Professional certification. He was always willing to help answer a computer question. He loved our Golden Retriever Molly and many kitties through the years. He had hoped to spend his retirement years helping others with his construction skills. Ken was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Colasuonno and stepfather, Steve Dillon. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Jill, Paul, and Leah, all of Fort Collins; his mother, Marie Dillon; and sister, Patti Mark Haskell, all of Olathe, Kansas; brothers, Bob Melody Colasuonno of Henderson, Nevada, and Steve Julie Colasuonno of Charles City, Iowa. As shown by the many loving comments on caringbridge.org/visit/kencolasuonno, Ken was loved and thought very highly of. He was an amazing husband and father. His simple acts of kindness through the years touched many people. Although his friends and family will miss him dearly, we know through the assurance of eternal life, we will see him in his new body again! A service will be held on Monday, March 22, at 1:00 pm at Faith Evangelical Free Church.
