Kelly Sue Cortez, 47, of Ft. Collins passed away on November 9, 2017. Kelly was born April 23, 1970 in Liberal Kansas to Johnny Warren Gilpin and Connie Sue Villarreal. Kelly attended Poudre High School and Front Range Community College and lived in Ft. Collins for 47 years.

Kelly married Joseph Cortez on August 28, 1999 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Kelly loved camping, being around her kids and was a mother to everyone.

Her family includes her husband Joseph; her three sons, Matthew (25), Timothy (17), and her son Joshua (17), who passed away with Kelly; her daughter, Amanda (18); a brother, Robert Gilpin of LaSalle, Colorado; and four sisters, Ethel Rodenburger of Torrington, Wyoming, Gloria Linblad of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Victoria Lopez of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Teresa Villarreal of Fort Collins.

Viewing will be held 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday, November 20 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. The Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m., on Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Wellington, Colorado.
