Listen to Obituary
Kelli Rondell Duensing was welcomed into Eternal Life on October 22, 2009. She was born on July 7, 1957 in Walters, Oklahoma. She graduated from Smith Cotton High School in Sedalia, Missouri in 1975 and from Central Missouri State University in 1979. On October 3, 1981 she married Alan Duensing. Kelli loved nature all her life, especially horses. At college she was a barrel racer. In 1986 the diagnosis of a brain tumor changed the direction of her life but not who she was as she battled cancer for 23 years. She lived "one day at a time" and her unwavering faith in God gave her the strength and serenity to meet each day and find whatever good was in it. She was always able and ready to tell her story and give God the glory. She found enjoyment and purpose in volunteering at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas and at Poudre Valley Hospital. Her courage and love for others will be remembered always. Kelli is survived by husband, Alan Duensing; mother, Jean Lowery of Duncan, Oklahoma; and sisters, Kerri Glensky of Crane, Missouri; and Merri Silva of Bakersfield, California. Her father, Thurman Lowery, preceded her in 1999. A memorial service will be at Peak Community Church, 500 Matthews Street, on Monday, October 26 at 11:00a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Kelli's name to the National Brain Tumor Society, Peak Community Church or a charity of your choice in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 West Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524. Friends may send condolences to the family at bohlenderfuneralchapel.com.
