Kathryn Gayle Pennington

Kathryn Gayle Pennington, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend departed this life for Eternal life on Monday, September 20th, 2010. She was such a shining star to those who knew her, and lived her life with laughter, love and joy. She is survived by her grown children, LaRae Geisick of Ft. Collins, Dennis Pennington of Eaton, Duane Pennington of Ft. Collins, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. Gayle came to Colorado in the mid sixties with her husband Claude Pennington from Salt Lake City, Utah. They settled into Ft. Collins and raised their family here, making friends along the way. Together they had many business adventures, finally owning and operating Pennington Construction until the time of Claude's passing. She loved to travel, and in her lifetime had wonderful memories of the trips and cruises she had taken not only with Claude and family, but with friends as well. The wanderlust in her also drove her to read anything she could get her hands on, and add to her extensive movie collection, both classics and new. Dogs and birds were also favorite companions of hers, and over the years she had many critters. We'd have to say that her greatest passion in life however was her precious "babies". She loved children so very much, and was a devoted mother and grandmother, even "adopting" a few strays along the way. To this day friends of her children still call her Mom. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 5:00 PM, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel and a Celebration of Life will follow at the Cloverleaf Mobile Home Community Clubhouse at 4412 E. Mulberry St. Ft. Collins.
