Kathryn Elizabeth Hood, 86, of Fort Collins, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Kay was born December 25, 1923 in Guymon, Oklahoma to Charles and Bertha Talbott. Her father died when she was only nine years old resulting in her being raised by her mother and Kay?s, Aunt Gertie. The family was split between two homesteads, one in Colorado and one on the panhandle of Oklahoma, during The Great Depression and The Dust Bowl. She attended school in Kim, Colorado. Kay married Hoyt Hood, Jr. in 1942, and they had four children. Fort Collins was their home since 1958. During her life, she made family her first priority and was a wonderful mother and a devoted wife. Kay was a kind and loyal friend that always helped in any way she could. She had a great sense of humor and loved laughing with family and friends. Kay always liked to be outside?whether working or having a cup of coffee. Survivors include three daughters, Jeanette Jac Cuney, Rita Bruce Story, Kimn Robert Scrivner, and a son, Don Hood. Kay had twelve grandchildren: Stephanie Cuney-Guilliams, Sean Cuney, Scott and Shandel Story, Sasha Story-Wallace, Braden and Ryan Scrivner, Brooke Scrivner-Graff, Candence, Justin, Jessie and Jenalea Hood, and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hoyt, four sisters, and one brother. Services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m., at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
