Kathy, 70, of Livermore, Colorado unexpectedly passed away peacefully at her home on November 17, 2025. Kathy was born in Oakland, Nebraska on October 4, 1955. She was the youngest daughter of four children born to Virginia Louise (1917-2004) and William Byron Force (1912-1981).
Her family moved to Denver 1963. Kathy attended North High School in Denver. She would occasionally mention she believed (accurately) that her house was the closest house to old and new Mile High Stadium. Kathy married her husband, Ken, in Denver, CO on December 10, 1975 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic church.
She worked at the University of Denver in the Dining Services until moving to Fort Collins, CO in 1977. After moving to Fort Collins she was employed at Colorado State University from 1977 until 2009. Kathy initially worked at CSU for the Dept. of Housing and Dining Services in a variety of positions. In 1995 Kathy transferred to the Dept. of Chemistry and began work as an Administrative Assistant. After having her three children and working, Kathy retired in 2009 with 30 years service.
Kathy move to Livermore, CO in 1995 and lived the last 30 years with Ken, her kids and cats in her "shack" with a million dollar view.
Kathy's greatest joy was being with family. She was an excellent cook with her Thanksgiving dinner being the family's culinary highlight of the year. She was a chocoholic and an accomplished baker. Kathy enjoyed extended road trips with her husband to visit family, relatives and new places. She enjoyed Colorado camping trips with her family. Kathy loved to read in the mornings with her husband and two cats, Abby and Lucky, lounging near her, and a warm fire burning in the wood stove on those cold days.
Kathy was the dedicated mother of three children and a grandmother of two grandchildren. Kathy touched the lives of everyone who knew her with her engaging conversation on a number of topics and her humor. Kathy was a humble, reserved person who thought of others before herself. She earned respect being very kind, patient and understanding of everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ken, her children Andrew, William, Danna, son-in-law Michael, their two grandchildren Mallory and William, sister Linda (Force) Chambliss and brothers Robert Force and Gary Force.
