Kathleen Rae Maple

Kathleen Rae Maple, 72, of Berthoud, Colorado, passed away on March 21st, 2025. She was born to parents Eugene Beckler Metcalf and Donna VaJo Martin - Metcalf, on March 24th, 1952, in Fort Collins, Colorado. She graduated from Poudre High School in 1969. Kathleen worked as a Home Maker for 53 years supporting her husband Joe and their two children Jason and Jodi Maple.

Kathleen (Kathy) enjoyed spending time with friends and family, reminiscing about all of their favorite memories, and playing cards with her grandchildren. She spent countless hours cheering for all of Colorado's sports teams. Kathy absolutely loved the mountains! Walks through the woods and riding her bike through the streets of Berthoud were some of her most calming moments. Kathy was one of the most artistic people you will ever meet. She was a lover of all creatures; birds, squirrels, deer, moose… she loved them all and made sure they were all very well fed. She spent every day with her three-year-old yellow lab, Sadie, who she spoiled rotten and loved with every inch of her body!

Kathleen met Joseph V. Maple in 1971. They were married on October 6th, 1972, in Laporte, Colorado. Together they raised two children Jason and Jodi Maple.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her father Eugene Metcalf. She is survived by her husband Joseph Maple of Berthoud; son Jason Maple of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughter Jodi Ward – Maple (Dave Ward) of Frederick, Colorado; siblings, Edward Metcalf of Jeffery City, Wyoming and David Metcalf of Bellvue; mother Donna Metcalf of Bellvue; five grandchildren, Emma Maple of North Platte, Nebraska, Ava Maple and Clara Maple of Milford, Nebraska, Konnor Ward and Makayla Ward of Frederick, and a great grandchild Annika Richardson of North Platte.

Funeral services for Kathleen will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, April 2nd at 10:00 AM, followed by a reception at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St, Fort Collins, CO 80524. We will proceed to Roselawn Cemetery at 12:15 PM, 2718 E. Mulberry St., Fort Collins, CO 80524 where Kathy will be laid to rest at 12:30 PM.
