Kathleen (Kaye) Lehmann's life adventure concluded on January 31, 2019 at McKee Medical Center near her home in Johnstown, CO. She went peacefully, knowing that she was loved by friends and family.
Kaye's journey began in Regent, North Dakota in July of 1942. She attended a one room school house just up the hill from the family farm before leaving for St. Mary's Catholic Boarding School. She obtained a liberal arts degree at St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota and a business administration degree at Presentation College. It was in Aberdeen where she met her love and life partner of 52 years, Chuck (Charlie) Lehmann. They were married in 1966.
The newlyweds moved to Bismarck where they started their family and Kaye began her career with a job at Northwestern Bell. Her profession called for moving her family to Fargo, ND and then to AT&T Corporate Headquarters in New Jersey. She retired in 2004 after earning numerous awards including being named "The Mother of Invention" for bringing new technologies, benchmarking, and customer service innovations into the organization.
Kaye was community minded and active in fundraising for non-profits including the YWCA and Adoption Dreams Come True. She was devoted to the church in each community in which she lived whether it be as organist, soloist, choir member, decorator, or member of the Liturgical Committee.
Kaye had an exuberance for experiencing new things. She took joy in travel, music, and musical theater. In her leisure time, she most enjoyed her home, family, and friends. After her retirement, she made it her job to keep in touch via email, calls, and social media. She loved creating hominess. Whether it was decorating, entertaining, or gardening, she made it special, inviting, and her own. She loved hats and shoes and dressed fearlessly and fashionably to convey her artistic style.
Kaye is survived by her husband, Charles Lehmann; her daughter, Giselle; son, Chris and his wife Darcy (Middlemist) Lehmann; and grandson, Christian. She is preceded in death by her father, Walter F. Gion; sister, Claudia Gion; and brother, Eugene Gion.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 12:00PM on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 in the south auditorium at Timberline Church, 2908 S Timberline Rd. in Fort Collins, CO.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions may be made in her honor to either Susan G Komen Foundation to end breast cancer or Adoption Dreams Come True in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
