Katharine was born to Ben and Praxedes Gonzales on March 22, 1939, in Arizona. She was one of 10 siblings.
Katharine married the late Joseph Tovar on September 1, 1960. Together they had two children, Jacqueline, and Kirk. She was a homemaker most of her life. Her favorite job was caring for her grandchildren.
She enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in their sports and school activities. The only events that she didn't attend, were the ones that were out of state. She enjoyed gardening, visiting family, and cooking for anyone that came to visit. She passed her appreciation for cooking to her grandkids. Katharine spent a lot of time talking with her great-grandchildren on the phone and visiting with them. Family was the most important part of her life.
