Karen Lou Irey December 29, 1944 -- March 11, 2012 Karen Lou Irey, also known as, Karen Lou McGuire was born in Fort Collins, Colorado and was proud to call herself a native. She was a mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Karen was the youngest daughter of Oscar and Lucy Chiaro McGuire, both deceased. Her older sister Diana J. Koenig of Poudre Canyon survives. Her other survivors are children, Lori Fahrenbruch Martin, Larry Fahrenbruch, Lisa Fahrenbruch and Shannon Irey Tucker. She also left grandchildren, Danielle Martin, Ryan Martin, Aislinn Tucker, Lilly Tucker, Madison Fahrenbruch and great-granddaughter, Mylee Montoya. Her lifelong friends include Carol Rice and Karen Davidson, both of Fort Collins and whom the family would like to thank for their friendship and support over the years. Karen's happiest years were living in Laporte, raising her children and working first at Colorado State University and then at First National Bank. Her early hobbies included gardening, cooking, bowling, and spending time with family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held on May 25, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Her family and friends are grateful that her suffering is over and pray that she is in Peace.
