June J. Zellers, 96, of Fort Collins passed away May 14, 2016 at her home. June was born March 5, 1920 to George and Bernice Lenz.
My mom was truly a lover of Jehovah and a hater of Satan. She spent most of her adult life telling others about our Creator and His wonderful promises, and wondered why anyone would not want to be a part of his grand purpose. The loss of her baby son, Dennis, triggered in her the quest for answers as to why a loving God would take her son from us at only two days old. When one of the Jehovah's Witnesses came to her door, she invited her in and said if you can tell me why my baby has died, I will talk to you more. That was the beginning of a life-long servant of Jehovah. She endured much verbal persecution from family members for a number of years, but that did not deter her. She raised both of her daughters to love Jehovah as she did, and eventually the verbal persecution stopped, and in fact her mother who was one of them, became a baptized servant of Jehovah as well.
Through many losses to death of family members, her son, youngest daughter, parents, husband, she never faltered.
She was truly a mother to be so proud of. Can't wait to see her again.
She was preceded in death by first husband, Bernard Curtis; second husband, Larry Zellers; son, Dennis Curtis; daughter, Jackie Walley; sister, Audrey Lenz; and brother, Bruce Lenz.
June was survived by three sisters, Camilla Rosam. Dolly Lenz, and Kathy Guthrel; one daughter, Linda Grenz; six grandchildren, Aimee Wilson, Joshua Grenz, Jacob Grenz, Michelle Walley, Cheryl Walley, and Steven Walley; and five great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Kingdom Hall, 2217 W. Vine.
