Julia Earlinda Manchego returned to her heavenly home, surrounded by family on Monday evening, November 5, 2018, at age 82. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and gave us all peace. She was born to Juan Y. Martinez and Rosenda Salazar on June 30, 1936 in Redwing, CO.
Julia was blessed with a large and loving family. She was kind and big-hearted and always had time to visit with family and friends and help those in need, no matter how small the request.
She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. She enjoyed gardening, swimming three times a week, and embroidering.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Jake Manchego, seven sisters and one brother.
She is survived by her life companion Joe Reyes; a sister, Aurora Dick; her sons Joe Manchego (Barb), John Manchego (Becky); her daughters Sofia Thomas (Don) and Marla Manchego; eleven grandchildren: Raeann Sanchez, Lucia Sanchez, Remy Joe Sanchez, John Manchego Jr., Janelle Thomas, Damitre Thomas, Latasha Martinez, Malcolm Thomas, Earlinda Manchego, Monica Manchego and Julia Ortiz; and 21 great-grandchildren: Annastasia, Moses, Laryssa, Goelle, Camilla, Pirscilla, Lucio, Olivianna, Aubrianna, Ashanta, Elijah, Nathan, Ava, Amara, Julianna, Miriam, Marcello, Miliana, Katrina and Cadin; and her two fur-kids Tiny and Leo.
Viewing will be held, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A Rosary will follow at 5 p.m., Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
