Listen to Obituary
Judith "Judi" A. Ewers passed away peacefully February 19, 2026; at the age of 82. Judi was born and raised in the Eaton & Greeley area. After graduating from Eaton High School, she received her certificate in Cosmetology. She owned a beauty salon in Loveland and later owned Judi's Beauty Salon in Sterling.

Judi married Jack Miller in February 1964 in Sterling, in June of 1965 they welcomed their daughter Traci, and in May of 1971 they welcomed a son Sean.

Around 1984 Judi moved to Greeley, where she met and later married Carlton "Dean" Ewers in 1993. Working different jobs and, then finishing her career working at State Farm for ten years. Judi and Dean moved to Ft. Collins where they currently reside.

Judi's Grandmother Bertha Reed taught Judi and her sister Jo to sew; she enjoyed sewing clothing for her children and crafting packaging for her sister's home-made soaps. She participated in Bowling leagues in Sterling and later in Greeley. Judi enjoyed reading her favorite Agatha Christy books and putting together puzzles. Judi and Dean enjoyed checking out restaurants in Greeley and Ft. Collins. I almost forgot to mention that she was an amazing cook! They enjoyed traveling to visit their families in California, Indiana & Oklahoma. If you called her in the evening, you could generally catch her sitting outside on her Veranda as she called it (the deck). Of course we cannot forget, she loved to cheer on her favorite sports teams the Raiders and the Dodgers! Judi had an enthusiastic sense of humor; she enjoyed teasing. If you were teasing her the typical response was "Listen here Mister or Missy." She was not afraid to share her opinion on just about anything, it was always great fun to get her riled up!

About ten years ago Judi was diagnosed with Dementia, the same type that had taken her mother. As the disease progressed, she came to rely solely on her beloved husband Dean. The dementia took her ability to process the order in which you do simple tasks like making a cup of coffee or taking a shower. With dementia came great anxiety, Dean was her anchor and constant caretaker as they made their way through this unchartered territory. The dementia became increasingly worse this last year. We were blessed that Judi knew who we were and kept her memories of earlier years, she knew we were there with her on Thursday when it was time for her to go. When visiting her a few days before she passed the last thing she said to me was "When am I going to get out of here?" My answer was soon mom, soon you will be able to go anywhere you want.

Judith is survived by her husband Dean of Ft. Collins. Son Sean (Michael) Miller of Sterling. Daughter Traci (Dave) Hill of Sterling. Grandchildren, Shay (Drew) Swan, Paige Miller, Chase Miller all of Sterling, Chance Miller & Peyton of Merino. Three Great grandchildren, Milo Swan, Brady Swan, and baby girl Swan all of Sterling. Brother Roger (Kate) Short of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Two lovely Stepdaughters, Trudy, and Debby.

Judy was proceeded in death by her mother, Barbara "Bobbie" Reed Eldridge, Her father Victor Warren Short, adoptive father Harvey "Punch" Eldridge Jr. Her two sisters Sharland Jo Booher, and Jacquline "Jacki" Vasquez. Stepdaughter Judy Ewers.

Forever we will miss how your face lit up when we walked into your room, your smile, your laugh that moment of pure love. I loved to say you are my favorite Mom and your reply would be "I am your only Mom." What a wonderful gift.
