Juan "Sammy" Cruz

Juan "Sammy" H. Cruz, 56, of Fort Collins, died Feb. 22, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Pueblo. Mr. Cruz was born July 2, 1953, in Tahoka, Texas, to Pedro G. Cruz and Pedra Hernandez Cruz. Survivors include his wife, Richelle Roth-Cruz of Fort Collins; three children, Hector and Juanita Cruz of Fort Collins, Miranda Cruz of Shafter, Calif.; seven step-children, Evina Garcia, Ofelia Ramos, Justin Fox, Amber and Shawna O'Hanley, and Ceasar and Johnny Martinez, all of Fort Collins; 11 brothers and sisters, Gabriel, Margarita, Ricardo, Dominga, Olga, and Jesse Cruz, Joe Hernandez, and Juan Zamora, all of Fort Collins, Pedro Cruz of Tahoka, Texas, Silvia Hernandez of Albuquerque, N.M., and Rosa Linda Cruz of Greeley; and 32 grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Preceding Sammy in death are his parents; two sisters, Delia Cruz and Petra H. Zamora; and a grandson, John E. Cardenas. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Father Damian de la Cruz, C.R. will officiate the service. Those who desire may view Mr. Cruz, 12 to 4 p.m., Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday.
