And so it ends, a gentle soul has taken flight and is finally at peace. Joyce DAnne Glass left this world early November 17, 2015 after 80 years on this earth. Corine, her granddaughter and fulltime caretaker, was at her side as she quietly slipped away from the grasp of the Alzheimer's disease that had taken her memory.
Joyce lived in Fort Collins where she was a homemaker and worked in medical transcription, housekeeping and doting on her grandchildren. She loved the Lord and hosted other senior citizens for worship at her apartment complex in her later years. Her many friends and family will miss her beautiful smile and loving heart. When the Alzheimer's disease made it unsafe for her to live alone any longer she moved to Brush to live with her daughter, Joy, in 2010.
She is survived by her sons, John, Jr. (Susan), Michael, James, Daniel, Frederick, Sr. (Suzanne), and Joseph. She leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; her sister, Nancy, sisters and brothers- in- law also remain. Many nieces and nephews and friends that she considered family will mourn the passing of this sweet lady.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Blanche Knox; brothers, William and Robert; husband, John Glass, Sr.; daughter, Joy Van Horn; and daughter-in-law, Marcy Glass.
A celebration of her life will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 30 at Resurrection Fellowship in Loveland, Colorado at 6502 Crossroads Boulevard.
Memorial contributions can be made in Joyce's name to Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive Street, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
