Joy M. Weissmann

Joy M. Weissmann, 83, of Fort Collins, died September 7, 2013. Mrs. Weissmann was born April 8, 1929 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Otto and Marion Aldrich Montagne. Joy married Robert C. Weissmann on January 25, 1951in Ottumwa, Iowa. Mrs. Weissmann graduated with honors from Ottumwa High School and then attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois with a BA in Chemistry. She lived in Fort Collins since November 26, 2008. She was a housewife and mother of seven children. She enjoyed collecting antique spoons and antique furniture. She was the Financial Secretary at the Lutheran Church in Covington, LA. Survivors include her husband, Robert C. Weissmann; sons, Dr. Robert C. Weissmann, Jr., MD, Richard M. Weissmann, Dr. Jeffrey R. Weissmann, MD, Col. James W. Weissmann USAF, Retired and Mark A. Weissmann; daughters, Karen Rayburn, and Linnea Pennington; twenty-four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Preceding Joy in death is her brother, Dick Montagne. A Memorial Service will be held at Good Samaritan Retirement Village, 508 W Trilby Rd on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
