Josephine Lind, 83, of Fort Collins, passed away May 27, 2007. She is survived by her son, Jackson Lind, Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Jean Graham, Fort Scott, Kan., Billie Swope, Cortez; seven grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev Hugh J. Lind; and daughter, Nancy Van Reijn. Josephine was born in Pueblo on May 31, 1923, of Christian and Belle Sinding. She graduated salutatorian from Fowler High School and attended Western State College in Gunnison. She married Hugh J. Lind and they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Known as "Jo" by her friends, she helped establish a MOPS chapter in Fort Collins in 1981, serving as a Titus Woman and Mentor Mom to hundreds of young mothers. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Collins and loved singing in the church choir. Her hobbies were ceramics, crocheting, knitting and entertaining friends in her home. A funeral will be held Thursday, 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 900 E. Prospect Road, Fort Collins, with burial services at Fowler Cemetery in Fowler Saturday at 1 p.m. Pastor Mark Hanke will officiate at the services.
