Josephine passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 26, 2012. Sad to be left behind, we rejoice that mom had joined friends and family that have passed before her and that she now walks with angels in heaven. Born on March 19, 1926 to loving parents, Lawrence and Veronica Scott in Throop, Pennsylvania, she debuted on her father's lucky number, 19. She was the oldest of nine children growing up in New York State. She dropped out of school to help support her family, later graduating from night school in Vero Beach, Florida, during the seventies. She was also a cosmetology graduate working her magic on many men, women and children in her own shops in Himrod, New York, Vero Beach, Florida and Loveland, Colorado. Josephine love to knit, crochet, needlepoint, and quilt. No new baby ever went without one of her fantastic baby blankets. She knitted for charity with her sweaters going to far off places, like Africa. She was lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi, where she was voted "Mother of the Year" three different times. She truly enjoyed all of the community projects. She selflessly gave of her time and energy to her family of three children, Wilma Jean, Gene Kevin and Tina Ann. She enjoyed 36 years with the love of her life, William Henry French, who preceded her in death in 1983. Cooking, cleaning, canning, she ran a tight ship. Faith, friends and family shaped her life. She will be sadly missed by her three surviving children; eight grandchildren and spouses; thirteen great grandchildren and two surviving sister. A Private Family Service will be held.
