Joseph Harry Reese of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away at his home on Friday, May 30th, at the age of 66. Joe was born December 18, 1947 in Akron, Colorado. He was the youngest of four children born to Frank and Nellie Reese. He treasured his childhood in the country, and always felt a connection to the land. He was drafted for the Vietnam War, and served 1968 – 1969. He excelled during his time there, and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Air Medal. He returned home and got a job working for the phone company. He began his career as an installer climbing telephone polls and worked his way to a regional dispatch manager position for the western U.S. Joe retired from the phone company, and devoted his later years to his yard, his photography, and his two best friends: Mack and Bo. Joe was many things to many people. For some, he was a hard working colleague, while others remember the pleasure he got from a leisurely game of chess. Some will think of his generosity while still others will remember his kind spirit. This much is certain though - everyone will remember his Fourth of July parties. Joe is survived by his sons Andy wife Melissa of Fort Collins and Jason wife Ann of Steamboat, sons of Terry Nolan, his grandchildren Kellan and Allison as well as by Greg and Brit, sons of Joyce Hulse. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 9 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Internment to follow at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made in the name of Joe Reese to the VFW Youth Scholarships program. Contributions can be made online at
