With deep sorrow, the family of Joseph Raymond McClellan Jr. announces his passing on August 22, 2025, at the age of 61.

Joe was born on March 21, 1964, to Joseph and Joanne McClellan in Washington DC. He spent his early years in the Woodmoor neighborhood of Silver Spring, MD. His big personality showed up early in life. His older sisters would likely describe him as a smart but very mischievous kid.

At 13, his mom moved the family to Fountain Valley, CA. It didn't take long for him to find his first love, music. He became a self-taught guitarist and flamboyant performer after starting with a trumpet. He spent his teen and early adult years playing rock and roll from backyard gigs to famous clubs on the Sunset Strip. It's likely he would remember his most exciting performance as playing at Sammy Hagar's club, Cabo Wabo in Cabo San Lucas Mexico with Sammy's guitar. His friends and fans knew him as Joe, the Flame, McC.

In 1991 Joe married and had three beautiful boys who became his pride and joy. He would gladly tell anyone that they were his greatest accomplishment.

Joe moved the family to Colorado in 1997, first to Canon City and later Fort Collins. During his time in Colorado, Joe was both a master tradesman and restauranteur owning businesses in both professions.

Joe was a wonderful father, a great brother, and an amazing friend. He had more best friends than most people have good friends in a lifetime. He was well liked by everyone, beloved by his friends and family, and he will be missed by a small army who called him Joseph, Joey, Joe, Dad, Pops, Bro, McC, the Flame.

He is survived by his sisters Karen, Jennifer and Mary; his former wife Dana and their sons Joseph and his wife Arika, Jason and his wife Vanessa, Joshua and his partner Alana Greszata; and his nephew Connor Morgan.
