Joseph "Joey" Martell

Joseph "Joey" Michael Martell, 19, of Fort Collins died Aug. 5, 2007. Joey was born Jan. 20, 1988, in Denver, to Michael "Mick" Martell and Laurie A. Martell. He and his family moved 13 years ago to Fort Collins from Aurora. Joey attended Fort Collins High School. He was a construction laborer who enjoyed football, baseball and fishing. Survivors include his mother, Laurie A. Martell of Fort Collins; father and stepmother, Mick and Dawna Martell of Fort Collins; a brother, David Martell and wife Lauren; and his niece, Faith of Fort Collins; grandparents, Ronald and Joanne Kirchgasler of Rapid City, S.D., and Lewis and Bonnie Martell of Denver, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. today at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, 4501 S. Lemay Ave. A private interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
