It is with profound sorrow that the family of Jonathan Gerold Njos, 43, announce his passing on December 14, 2024. Jon was the beloved father of Jonathan Robert Llamas-Njos, Lexi Ann O'Briant, and Matthew Darren Njos
In addition to his children, Jon is survived by his brother, Jeffrey Eugene Njos; sister Jennifer Marie-Violet Njos; and loving mother and stepfather, Elena Njos Hansen and Rodney Hansen. He is also survived by his former wife, Vanessa Llamas Njos. Having grown up in a large extended family, Jon leaves behind many aunts and uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews. Jon was predeceased by his beloved father Gerold Eugene Njos.
A lifelong resident of the Fort Collins area, Jon graduated from Fort Collins High School and went on to earn his Associate of Science degree from Front Range Community College.
Jon was known for his humble nature, gentle spirit, and kind soul, complemented by his witty sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. Above all else, Jon was a proud father who cherished his children deeply and would move mountains for them without hesitation. He had a natural ability to make friends and touched countless lives with his warmth and generosity. His faith was central to his life, and he was an active member of Timberline Church, where he participated in a men's Christianity group. In a touching tribute following his passing, the group renamed themselves the Njos Friends in his memory.
An excellent cook, Jon was particularly renowned for his exceptional salsas. He was a passionate sports enthusiast who closely followed the Denver Broncos, Nuggets, and Avalanche, especially cherishing the time spent watching football with his sons. Jon found joy in many pursuits, from golfing with friends to hiking and exploring the outdoors. He had a love for travel, enjoying family road trips, and travel to coastal destinations, where he found peace and joy along beautiful beaches.
Jon was a lifelong learner who cherished the pursuit of knowledge. Committed to personal growth, he made it a point to learn something new every day, always seeking to expand his understanding and share that wisdom with others.
Jon's legacy of kindness, faith, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His gentle presence and caring spirit will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Services will be held at Timberline Church south auditorium (2908 South Timberline Road, Fort Collins) on Friday, December 27. A viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 10:00 a.m. A light luncheon reception will be held in the Timberline Church reception room immediately following the service. A private graveside service will be held for family and close friends.
