Dr. John H. Wiese, 99, died May 12, 2016 in Fort Collins, CO. He was born January 15, 1917 in Los Angeles, CA. He moved to Fort Collins in 2013 from Kerrville, TX.
John had been an Exploration Geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey and ARCO oil Company and a consulting foundation engineer in San Luis Obispo, CA. He graduated from UCLA in 1947, earning the first Ph.D. in Geology granted by that school. He was active in watercolor painting and belonged to several national, California, and Texas art societies.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Warren Wiese.
