John Rivera, Sr

John G. Rivera Sr., 62, of Fort Collins, died March 16, 2007, at Oakley, Kan. John was born Jan. 15, 1945, in Saginaw, Mich., to Thomas G. Rivera Sr. and Maria Reyes Rivera. He married Octaviana "Toby'' Leal on March 15, 1965, in Saginaw. John was a carpenter. He devoted his time to helping others. He touched many hearts in the community. He will be deeply missed and now he is reunited with the love of his life, Toby. He is survived by two sons, John Rivera Jr. Renee of Hawaii and Tonylee S. Rivera of Fort Collins; two daughters, Mary Luna Bill of Kansas., Louisa Rael Greg of Wellington; a brother, Thomas Rivera Jr. Zelma of Georgia; a sister, Annette Mansfield Glenn of Michigan, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren, and numerous other special family members. Preceding him in death are his wife, father and mother-in-law. A Rosary will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel at 7 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Father Roger Lascelle will officiate the services.
