John Ruble, age 84, passed away on August 2, 2026, in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was born November 7, 1941, at Mercy Hospital in Denver to Frank Edward Ruble and Elizabeth McIntire Ruble. Raised in Denver, he attended South High School and graduated from Denver University in 1966. He married Tricia Marcus in 1964.

After attending officer training school in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, John served as a lieutenant in the 808 Corps of Engineers at Fort Wainwright Army Base in Fairbanks, Alaska. It was there that his two children with Tricia were born, Christina in 1967 and Nicholas in 1968. After John’s discharge in 1969, they all drove down the Al-Can Highway to return to the contiguous United States.

Upon their return, John spent several years working for the Packaging Corporation of America before becoming the general manager of the Los Verdes Golf Club in Denver, where he stayed until his retirement.

Always quick to help friends in need of support, John is remembered for his generosity, great sense of humor, intelligence, and inquisitiveness. He loved cooking meals he’d never tried and exploring places he’d never seen. Most of all he loved caring for his friends, family, and the many dogs he and Tricia adopted. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Tricia; his son, Nicholas, and his wife, Tommie Anne; his brother Robert and his wife, Sheila, of Billings, Montana; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. His daughter Christina predeceased him in 1993.
