John Perrott

John I. Perrott, 80, of Johnstown died Oct. 21, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Perrott was born July 16, 1927, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Ward and Irene Perrott. From 1945 to 1947, John was in the Merchant Marines and drafted in 1951 into the Korean War. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in July 1952. He was discharged from the U.S. Army in December 1953. He then served as a member of Jag from 1953 to 1976. In 1955, he joined the Pennsylvania National Guard and in 1956 joined the Virginia National Guard. In 1956, he became a pilot in the U.S. Army and remained there until 1973. He became a member of the Virginia Bar on February 17, 1961, the Colorado Bar in 1963, and the Nebraska Bar in 1980. He then started a law practice in Berthoud and practiced law in Johnstown from 1980 up until his death. He enjoyed reading and watching football. John met his wife, Joan, while stationed at Fort Dix in New Jersey, and they were married in June 1954. Survivors include his wife, Joan Perrott of Johnstown; two children, Richard W. Perrott of Phoenix, Ariz., and Carol Lynn Rea-Perrott of Chino Valley, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Will and Davis. Preceding John in death were his mother, father, brothers, Sam and Dick; and a sister, Mary. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
