Listen to Obituary
JOHN CALLAWAY "CADILAC-CAL" MOORE suddenly left us in the early morning of April 2, 2019. Cal was born to John and Mary Margaret Moore in Fort Collins, Colorado at Poudre Valley Hospital on June 10, 1955 and lived in Fort Collins his entire life. He graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1973, and attended Colorado State University for 2 years.

Cal married Lanette (Lanny) Crocket on March 4, 1978 in Fort Collins. They cherished 41 years of marriage, and having their one daughter. They have stayed in Fort Collins close to both families, the entire time.

Cal started out working on the family dairy farm when he was all of 8 years old. He loved his cows, and a few of them loved him as well. When the Federal Dairy Buyout happened in 1986, Cal went to work for a short time at the Colorado State University Dairy. While there he applied for a position with the newly built Anheuser-Busch Brewery, where he was hired on February 29, 1988. Cal worked there for 30 years, recently retiring in October of 2018.

Cal loved to sing and make people laugh. He wrote what he called "lude, crude, rude and otherwise odiferous songs." Everyone knew him for his dirty limericks, but may not have known what a beautiful voice he had when singing for weddings, in choirs, etc. After high school, Cal was accepted to the National Honor Choir, where he was able to tour Europe and sing in some of the world's famous cathedrals.

Cal was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John B Moore and Mary Margaret Moore. Also, by his grandparents, Oliver and Janet Nichols; and Joe and Freda Moore all of which were from Fort Collins.

Cal is survived by his wife, Lanny Moore; daughter, Jackie Davison and her husband, Paul. His grandchildren, Kelly Dennison, Drew Way, and Hailey Davison. His two brothers, Randy (Judi) from Thornton, CO and Brad (Pamela) of San Antonio, TX. Also, nieces and nephews – Nate Moore, Randi Lee Moore, Emily Moore, Daniel Miller and Samuel Miller.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, friends and family may donate to Breast Cancer Research through the American Cancer Society. Cal was deeply affected by his mother, aunt and several friends who suffered with this terrible disease. He had always hoped that a cure would be found, and faithfully donated to this cause. Your donations in his memory are appreciated. Please follow this link to donate https://www.crowdrise.com/o/en/campaign/cal-moore . Or donations to a charity of your choice in his name are also appreciated.

Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the Island Grill, 2601 S Lemay Ave #12
Fort Collins.
