John W. Hahn was born in Salina Kansas. John was a businessman. From an early age he was an entrepreneur. Around the age of seven years old, he would pull his wagon all around the neighborhood collecting empty glass pop bottles. He would take them to the neighborhood grocery store and trade the bottles in for cash. This was the foundation that built a strong self-reliable man.
John attended Salina high school, served four years in the United States Marine Corps, then married his high school sweetheart, Deanne Johnson. They had three children: Jody, Dana, and John Jr. John learned his plumbing trade in Salina Kansas then moved to Fort Collins Colorado to further his occupation. After a short stay in Fort Collins, John moved his family to Santa Barbara, California where they lived for approximately five years before returning to Fort Collins where he started a small plumbing company. Diane answered the phone and scheduled the jobs for their fledgling company. John did all the service calls. This was the start of their company, Hahn Plumbing and Heating, in Fort Collins Colorado.
In his spare time, John enjoyed a wide variety of interests. He enjoyed farming, astronomy, fishing, hunting, but most of all he enjoyed being a pilot. When he owned his own airplane, he logged in excess of 500 hours. With his many points of interest, John acquired many diverse friends.
John will be missed by many people whose lives he touched. John is survived by his three children, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, four sisters, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be at the Elizabeth Hotel 111 Chestnut St, Fort Collins Co, 80524. Saturday the 20th at 1pm.
