John Batchelder

John Bateman Batchelder, 50, of Fort Collins, died April 8, 2006, at a local nursing home. Mr. Batchelder was born Nov. 19, 1955, in Washington, D.C., to John Gardiner Batchelder and Alica M. LaVaude Batchelder. John moved to Fort Collins in 1970 from Michigan. He was a skilled laborer in water treatment. John enjoyed playing guitar and writing songs blues and country western. He was well-liked by people around him, and his caregivers were very close to him. He lived life the best he could and demonstrated courage in the face of difficulties. Surviving John are his brother, Kevin Batchelder, of Silverthorne; two sisters, Ann G. Batchelder, of Missoula, Mont., and Alicia M. Batchelder, of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. A private family service will be held. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W.
