Joel Robenhagen, age 67, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, December 30th.
Joel was born to Milton and Aurelia Robenhagen on May 20th, 1956. He grew up in Marion, Wisconsin alongside his sister Lorna Marquardt, and his brother Marshall "Pat" Robenhagen. He enjoyed growing up in a small Wisconsin community, and frequently returned for visits. He graduated from Marion High School and later attended the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. Joel was an avid athlete and enjoyed both basketball and track & field. He had a great sense of humor from an early age, and made lasting connections at every stage of his life.

Joel moved to California in his 20s and began working for FedEx, which became his lifelong career. He worked for FedEx for over 40 years, and retired in 2022. Joel's daughter Kelly was born in 1986 in California. The family moved to Salem, OR a year later before ultimately relocating to Fort Collins, CO in 1996. Joel lived the remainder of his years in Fort Collins.

Joel married Barb (Derr) Robenhagen on July 6th, 2012 in Loveland, CO, and the pair enjoyed a long and loving marriage. Joel was very close to Barb's daughters Brittany and Stephanie, and to Brittany's children Ainsely and Oliver. Joel treasured his role as a husband, father, and grandfather, and will be dearly missed by his family and his community.

Joel will be remembered for his kindness, generosity of spirit, humor, devotion to his faith, and his welcoming nature. He was a friend to all, and always ensured that those in his life felt comforted and supported. He enjoyed video games, sci-fi, spending time outdoors, hosting gatherings with friends and family, and cheering on the Packers. Joel loved all animals, and was a devoted companion and best friend to his dog Wallace (Wally).

After retiring, Joel began volunteering for Serve 6.8, lending his time and skills to support others. He was very involved with his church community at Good Shepard Church in Loveland, and was a deeply committed follower of his faith. Joel was well-loved by many, and his personable nature and loving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Joel is survived by his wife Barb, his daughter Kelly, his stepdaughters Brittany and Stephanie, his grandchildren Ainsley and Oliver, his sister Lorna, brother-in-law Don, sister-in-law Rozanne, his niece, and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at 1pm. The service will take place at Good Shepard Church in Loveland. An additional Celebration of Life will be held in Shawano, WI on May 18th, 2024 with additional details to follow.
